10 Funny Pics of Flying Dogs Catching Frisbees

When dogs do something – be it digging, exploring, greeting or playing – they do it full on, just like children, and using their entire bodies, not giving a damn how they look in the process. And why would they? These 15 images of gravity-defying dogs playing frisbee are just amazing – and funny too! Almost makes you wish you were a dog (well, maybe just for a day).

Here’s what a wet dog catching a frisbee looks like. Wild and frizzy, for sure, but also very determined. The way its hind and fore legs are parallel is just amazing. And we’ll be getting to know this aerodynamic pooch, named Trixie, a little better during the course of this post!

This mutt’s expression is priceless – and the bared teeth also clearly say, “Don’t mess with me and my frisbee.” We wouldn’t dare!

“Yup, it’s mine!” is what Trixie seems to be saying in this dramatic – and hilarious – capture, in which she adds grace and a nifty karate chop to the whole frisbee-playing thing. According to Trixie’s proud owner (and photographer) Emery Way, her sole aim seems to be to “wear out as many toys as possible.” We can believe it!

This dog playing frisbee on the beach is using its owner as a springboard! Clever! We love the way this mutt has stretched itself out, not to mention its wide-open mouth, eager for the catch. Awesome capture.

What a catch! This dog is so engrossed in the game that only the frisbee seems to exist for it. A great moment captured on camera that manages to morph thing and beast into one airborne frisbee-dog! Brilliant!

Jack Russell terriers are often considered an energetic breed, and it’s no coincidence that they feature in many of our images. Not only do these cheerful dogs appreciate a good game of frisbee, they thrive on exercise generally and need a decent amount of stimulation throughout the day to provide an outlet for all that energy. This one has made a spectacular mid-air catch. High five!

This dog’s got quite a spring in its step – or jump, we should say! It looks to be just as athletic and driven as any of the other canines featured here. We’re wondering how all these dogs would fare as a team.

The Jack Russell terrier shown here is one of our favorites. Its zeal and determination, and the way it’s able to twist its body around for the catch, are hard to match. Here it looks like it’s on its way down and preparing for landing, judging from the way its teeth are digging into the bright red frisbee. We love it!
